For the more adventurous, doing it on the full moon is a great option, for the full moon, at the Guarda, rises behind the hills (in the summer). During the walk to Gamboa, due to curvature, it’s possible to see the moon in the sea, with the Guarda in the distance. Amazing view is for just a few privileged!

A valley where tourists use to camp in the summer, the place are usually filled with tents. There’s this little beach called Praia do Maço, where the waves are usually weak and the sea baths are refreshing. It’s a trail made by hills and beaches, so the walker passes through different terrains, without great difficulties, only a few areas of higher climb.

After the Vale, it’s the village of Pinheira, where there are three beaches of calm sea – Praia de Cima, Praia de Baixo and Mar Aberto.

Leaving from Pinheira, getting to the Vale da Utopia is way faster, but the trail is way less pretty than going through Guarda. Through the Pinheira there’s not much to see.

On the path to BR 101, there is the headquarters of the Environmental Police, which takes care of the animals and the Parque do Tabuleiro.. Access is free, the visitor can see the police work and the animal in recovery, like alligators, capybaras, birds, monkeys and penguins.

Climbing the Rio de Madre is to enter into a television program of these nature channels. You see only nature everywhere, the ride gets even better when the boat owner shuts off the engine. Besides the good connection with nature, there are also the stories and teachings that are told during the ride by the boatman. Good program for families.

At the Praia de Baixo, on Pinheira, there is a boat ride that goes near to Florianópolis. The ride goes through the Ilha da Fortaleza and close to the beach of Naufragados, places where there’s a big chance of seeing dolphins jumping.

The double paraglider flight is not always available on the Praia da Guarda, depends on pilot availability and weather conditions. Now, if you had the chance to, do it! It is 15 minutes from a unique look of the most beautiful beach of Santa Catarina!
