Nightlife at the Guarda starts early, at twilight, with family and friend enjoying some live music at the center, usually played by backpackers who make their living from music to travel the world.
Some restaurant and snack bars also have live music.
As the sun is being replaced by the stars, the acoustic gives place to bands at more active bars, where the party goes the whole night. Usually the entry is charged, but who arrives early enters for free, and doesn’t have to pay when the show starts. At busy times, paying is inevitable.
New Year
New year’s eve happens on the shore of the Rio da Madre, where all the tourist meets at midnight to celebrate the 365 new opportunities to come. There’s not much firework in respect to animals, but some particulars bring their fireworks and set them off, so there’s some show at midnight.
The bars and pubs of the shore open their doors to exclusive events, that are usually in the range of 50 to 100 reais per person. Who doesn’t want to pay, enjoy the turn of the year at the shore as well, there’s space for everybody.
Carnival
The carnival at the Guarda do Embaú is also very busy, with beaches and pubs filled with beautiful people.
The Ed Boll’s group is a classic, every year they parade through the streets of Guarda, but it’s a small group, but familiar. The Guarda do Embaú doesn’t change much at carnival, it’s a holiday full of tourists, with lots of parties and good music, very similar to the new year’s eve and other holidays.
